Weiland's aluminum liftslide with interior wood cladding has been engineered to withstand stringent high velocity winds and impact testing standards and has achieved Miami-Dade County approval. These results are the first of their kind for a liftslide system with pocketing panels, a flush track only 3/16" above the finished floor, and sizes over 10' tall.
Key features of the Weiland liftslide's performance rating are the patented track and jamb systems. Our patented drainage track is one of the main technologies behind our hurricane rating. Along with a special gasketing system, interior or exterior shoot bolt, and multi-point locking, it provides excellent weather resistance and security. Our track is corrosion resistant, made of hardened anodized aluminum, and has withstood years of service in harsh coastal weather environments.

The architect for the new Napa Valley Hotel Luca was Jeffrey Fink and Associates Architecture of Los Angeles. The hotel interior, created by Kathleen Fink of KMF Design located in Carmel, California, combines casual luxury with modern textures and tones. Unique reclaimed materials were used throughout the construction of Hotel Luca including 200 year-old roof tile from Lucca, Italy, and 300 year-old floor tile from Florence, Italy. The hotel’s exterior is of custom lime-plaster, an ancient technique used on some of Europe’s earliest buildings. Hotel Luca features a Weiland aluminum wood liftslide that opens to the courtyard.

It was another great IBS show for Weiland and it was great to see everyone who stopped by to see our new booth! Although overall IBS attendance was down, we were very pleased with the foot traffic in our area and high level of interest in our products. Our exhibit booth was consistently full and it was nice to hear the growing optimism from many builders and architects from around the country.
In addition to our usual “show-stopping” 27’ radius liftslide door, we also turned heads (upwards!) with our new 16’ tall liftslide door (aluminum with teak interior cladding). The 16' door is AAMA tested and reflects our commitment to pushing the envelope of what a sliding door can be.
This year we also introduced, with great response, a new push out casement (HC 100 DP) and tilt turn window (LC 65 DP), both with U-Values under 0.30.
Again, thanks to everyone who stopped by. For those of you who couldn’t make it, please don’t hesitate to call us if you have any questions or need additional information on these or any of our doors and windows!
