Shoot Bolt Handle Instructions |
 |
|
Your door system will only meet hurricane standards if the shoot bolts are engaged. The shoot bolts are rods that lock the door panels into place.
T-Bar: The removable handle used to engage the hurricane shoot bolts. Please keep it in a safe and easily accessible place.
Grommets: The holes where the T-bar is inserted |
The door panels may have grommets on the right side, left side, or on both sides of each panel.
Before engaging the shoot bolts, make sure the doors are completely closed, locked, and in the down position (liftslide handle pointing up).
1. Insert the T-bar completely into the grommet, up to the white tape mark.
2a.To engage the shoot bolt for grommets on the right side of the panel, turn the T-bar clockwise. Make sure the T-bar has been turned 180 degrees, but do not force it.
2b. To engage the shoot bolt for grommets on the left side of the panel, turn the T-bar counter clockwise. Make sure the T-bar has been turned 180 degrees, but do not force.
3. To disengage, turn the T-bar 180 degrees in the opposite direction.
NOTE: If it's difficult to turn the T-bar, make sure the door is completely closed and locked. If the door is not in the proper position, engaging the shoot bolts may damage the floor or head track.
